Inspiration We cannot appreciate the magnitude of God's gift of eternal life until we first understand that the wages of sin is death. Wages are what we "earned, " what we "deserve. " "Death" is not only physical death, here, but spiritual and eternal death. Our sin was an offense to the infinitely holy God, and thus justly deserved eternal punishment. But God's grace, which was greater than all our sin, brings us eternal life instead. Prayer Lord, help us to see that your punishment for sin is just and to sense something of the true heinousness of sin. WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN? A Christian is a follower of Christ. It doesn’t matter if he is Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical, or nothing. If he accepts Jesus he is a Christian. A true Christian is a follower of Christ’s teachings. And those teachings can be summed up in one word, love: Love for God, and love for your neighbor. Are you a Christian? Do you love the Lord and follow His commandment to love others. If you are, you are already living in the blessings and favor of God. Isn’t it great! Affirmation: I want to be more like You, Jesus.  Aspiration It's our human nature to come up with plans, thoughts, and goals for the future. But we need to realize God is the only one who truly knows what's best for us. When you have plans you would like to make, or actions you need to take about a particular decision, make sure that you go to God first. Prayer Dear God, I commit all my plans, dreams, and aspirations into your hands. These are only products of my thoughts; what I truly want is what you want for me because I know that that is what will truly be best for me. In Jesus' name, I pray.
